ADHD Mentoring Sessions: Detailed Breakdown & Pricing Info
-
1. Check-in
Each session starts with a quick check-in on how the week has gone and anything that might impact engagement with the session. This could include feeling particularly tired or distracted that week. This check-in helps me to adapt to needs that vary week by week.
-
2. Recap
Next, we will reflect on what we covered the previous week to ensure everything makes sense and discuss skills that can be built on in future sessions.
-
3. Session Planning
After the first session, I will create a plan based on the needs discussed. However, I recognise the need for us to adapt based on what is going on in your life at the time. This could include when exams are approaching or you are feeling particularly overwhelmed by competing demands, for example. We will therefore discuss what you need from the session each week.
-
4. Skills
We will then use discussion, worksheets and practical exercises to develop skills to manage your needs.
All worksheets are developed by me and adapted based on your needs and interests.
-
5. Planning
Developing a plan for the week to practice and implement this week’s skills. We will discuss the strategies and support needed for the greatest success.
-
6. Check-out
A discussion of what went well and what could have been better in the session to help me support your needs as best I can.
Session Length Preferences
30-Minute Sessions May Be Preferred By Individuals Who:
Feel overwhelmed by longer commitments and benefit from shorter, manageable time frames.
Require quick, focused bursts of productivity to tackle specific challenges or tasks.
Appreciate the opportunity to set frequent goals and experience a sense of accomplishment within a shorter timeframe.
Have more limited time and may wish to schedule sessions in their lunch breaks.
45-Minute Sessions Might Appeal To Those Who:
Prefer more time to explore topics in depth without feeling rushed, which can lead to better retention of information.
Find that a bit of extra time allows for natural breaks, helping them reset their focus and reduce cognitive fatigue.
Benefit from the opportunity to engage in more thorough discussions, enhancing their understanding of concepts and strategies.
During the free consultation, we can explore these preferences to identify the session length that aligns best with the individual’s unique needs and learning style.

Assessment
Following your complimentary consultation, individuals over 18 or parents seeking support for their children will proceed to an assessment session. This session is crucial for identifying your needs and the support you seek. It will include:
An in-depth discussion about the challenges you face and their impact on your performance in school, work, and personal life.
An opportunity to share any relevant background information that may help in understanding your situation.
Clarification of your goals for seeking ADHD mentoring.
Structured questions and assessments designed to evaluate specific areas of need and guide our focus in future sessions.
An exploration of your preferred learning and working methods.
A detailed overview of what to expect from our mentoring sessions, including how to maximize the benefits of the support provided.
A discussion on whether 30-minute or 45-minute sessions would suit you best.
The assessment session incurs a fee of £55. This fee covers the session itself and includes a tailored session plan crafted after our meeting. The plan will outline a roadmap for our sessions, detailing the topics we will cover to assist you in achieving your goals.
Weekly Sessions
Weekly sessions will involve discussions, worksheets, and practice exercises tailored to your specific needs and goals. Each session is designed to equip you with one or two takeaway tasks or strategies to implement before our next meeting. It's essential to recognize that not every strategy may resonate with you, so experimentation with what we discuss during sessions is crucial in finding solutions that genuinely work.
The minimum commitment of six sessions allows adequate time for me to explain various strategies, for you to practice them, and for us to discuss any necessary adaptations or alternatives if a particular strategy doesn't yield the desired results. Learning new skills takes time, and embedding effective strategies requires consistency. This structured approach enables us to gain a clearer understanding of the mentoring's effectiveness for you.
Session costs are as follows:
30-minute sessions: £25
45-minute sessions: £35
After the initial six-week block, sessions can be extended in blocks of three. This format allows for in-depth planning on specific skills you wish to improve, as well as the flexibility to adapt strategies that aren't working. Additionally, ad hoc sessions can be scheduled for targeted topics, which can be especially beneficial if you're feeling overwhelmed by competing demands or need assistance with creating a revision plan in preparation for upcoming exams.
Mentoring is a collaborative effort. While I bring expertise, strategies, and practice tasks to our sessions, your role is equally important. An open mind, dedication to progress, and focus will enrich our partnership. I cannot promise quick fixes or immediate results; however, I assure you a non-judgmental environment and practical solutions designed to facilitate gradual change. Each individual’s journey is unique—some may notice meaningful progress after three or four sessions, while others might require two to three months to feel significant shifts in their management. Change can be particularly challenging for neurodivergent individuals, often inducing anxiety and instability. Therefore, a gradual introduction of strategies is generally the most effective approach.
